For his part, Pierre-Luc Dubois, star forward of the Winnipeg Jets, will be the captain for the Le BUT Foundation of Sports Rousseau - Groupe Gendron. For the First Tee - Premier départ Québec Foundation, two co-captains will share the honor: the two headliners of the 2023 Québec Open and members of Golf Canada, Joey Savoie and Étienne Papineau from Québec.
Guy Carbonneau, former captain of the Montreal Canadiens and member of the Hockey Hall of Fame, said: "It is an honour for me to be named honorary captain for the Montreal Canadiens Children's Foundation. I have always been passionate about golf and the opportunity to participate in an event that supports a cause that is close to my heart is a real privilege.
Pierre-Luc Dubois, star player of the Winnipeg Jets, says: "I am honored to be named honorary captain of the Le BUT Foundation. Le BUT does a great job in helping young people reach their full potential through hockey, and I am thrilled to be able to contribute to this unique event."
"It will be a pleasure to participate in this friendly competition with the other foundations and to contribute to a good cause while playing golf with celebrities and friends from the community" said Joey Savoie.
Étienne Papineau added, "It will be an incredible day of golf and I am proud to be a part of this important charitable initiative that will help support meaningful projects for youth in our community while celebrating the great game of golf."
"We are thrilled to have these big names in Québec sports and culture involved in this initiative. We are confident that the event will be a great success with their support and that of the entire community," said Sylvain Lauzon, President of VOLTA Sports, the agency in charge of organizing the 2023 Québec Open.
